What is Trader Vic’s?

Founded in 1934, Trader Vic’s began when Victor Bergeron transformed ‘Hinky Dinks’ into an island-inspired retreat, pioneering a global dining and cocktail empire. Known for introducing exhibition cookery, Chinese wood-fired ovens, and multi-ethnic fusion cuisine, Trader Vic’s also revolutionized the world of cocktails. In 1944, Victor Bergeron created the iconic Mai Tai, a drink that became a symbol of tropical escapism and remains a staple in bars worldwide. When Bergeron first crafted the Mai Tai, he served it to his friends from Tahiti, Ham and Carrie Guild. Upon tasting it, Carrie exclaimed, “Mai Tai—Roa Ae!” meaning “the best—out of this world!” in Tahitian, solidifying its place in cocktail history.

In 2024, Trader Vic’s celebrated 90 years of blending tradition with modern innovation, continuing its legacy as the original purveyor of island hospitality.

 Where do you ship from?

All orders ship from our headquarters in Martinez, California.

Do you ship internationally?

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

We accept returns on unused items in original packaging within 30 days of delivery. Returns must be authorized before sending—email us attradingpost@tradervics.comto request a return authorization number (RA#).

Do you cover return shipping?

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to an error on our part.

How long does it take to receive a refund?

Refunds are processed within 10 business days of receiving and approving your return. Please allow additional time for your bank to reflect the credit.

Can I exchange an item?
