At Trader Vic’s, some pieces are more than serveware—they’re part of our story.
The Scorpion Bowl is one of them.
Originally created for shared cocktails and celebration, it has long been at the center of the Trader Vic’s experience. Now, we’ve reimagined that icon through the lens of contemporary ceramic art.
Introducing a limited edition Scorpion Bowl, created in collaboration with Trevor Foster—a piece that brings together craft, culture, and collectibility.
Two Distinct Finishes
Each bowl is available in one of two glaze treatments:

Tenmoku Edition
A deep, near-black glaze with layered tonal variation that reveals subtle movement in the light.

Red Iron Oxide Edition
Warm and earthy, with rich red and rust tones that highlight the natural clay body.
The Scorpion Bowl, Reimagined
Designed with the original Trader Vic’s Scorpion Bowl in mind, this piece maintains its communal spirit while introducing a more sculptural, elevated form.
-
72 oz capacity
-
Dimensions: 8” x 7” x 5 3/4”
Substantial in presence, it’s made to anchor the table—whether filled with a classic Scorpion Bowl or simply on display.
About the Artist

Trevor Foster is a studio ceramicist whose work is grounded in material, process, and tradition. His approach embraces the natural behavior of clay and glaze, allowing each piece to develop its own character through firing.
Rather than chasing uniformity, his work highlights variation—subtle shifts in tone, texture, and surface that reflect the hand behind it.
No two glazes settle the same—each bowl carries its own surface, its own story.
