Trader Vic’s is back where it all began.
Our newest Trader Vic’s Outpost is now open at Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK), bringing signature cocktails, island-inspired cuisine, full-service dining and exclusive retail to travelers in Terminal 2.
For Trader Vic’s, this opening is more than a new airport location. It is a return to our hometown roots — a celebration of Oakland, the Bay Area and the spirit of travel that has always inspired us.
To mark the occasion, we’re proud to introduce a new mug created especially for our OAK location: the Mole Kumu Oakland Mug.

At the home of the Original Mai Tai®, Trader Vic’s remains deeply rooted in Oakland.
The Mole Kumu Oakland Mug was created to honor that connection — where our story began, and where a new chapter is now taking flight.
The name Mole Kumu speaks to foundation, origin and connection.
Mole refers to the primary taproot of a tree, representing the core foundation or base of an object.
Kumu denotes the trunk or base of a tree.
Together, Mole Kumu reflects the idea of being firmly rooted while continuing to grow, evolve and reach new places.

The Mole Kumu logo was designed by Oakland artist Timothy B., known for his work with the Bay Area Mural Program.
The design brings together two meaningful symbols: the tree as a symbol of Oakland and the palm tree as a symbol of Trader Vic’s. The result is a mug that celebrates both place and legacy — Oakland’s creative spirit and Trader Vic’s timeless sense of escape.
It’s a nod to hometown roots, local artistry and the travelers who can now experience Trader Vic’s before they take off from OAK.
Trader Vic’s Outpost at OAK
Located in Terminal 2, Trader Vic’s Outpost offers travelers a full-service restaurant and bar experience with breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails and takeout.
Guests can enjoy Trader Vic’s favorites, signature cocktails, island-inspired dishes and Oakland-exclusive retail, including the Mole Kumu Oakland Mug.
It’s a new Outpost, a tribute to Oakland and a celebration of the roots that continue to guide us.
